Sam Parker joined Beacon Global Strategies LLC in November 2018
Prior to joining BGS, Mr. Parker worked as an Academic Fellow at U.S. Indo-Pacific Command, analyzing Chinese economic efforts to displace U.S. influence in the Asia-Pacific. Building on this research, he coauthored a report on China’s “Debtbook Diplomacy,” which was presented to the State Department and covered by CNN, The Guardian, and The Australian Financial Review.
Mr. Parker previously served as the Special Assistant to the Assistant Secretary for Public Affairs at the Department of Homeland Security. In this role, he synthesized intelligence reports and staffed the Assistant Secretary for incident response exercises, prepared briefing materials for the Secretary and Assistant Secretary, and drafted DHS press releases and media advisories.
Prior to his work at DHS, Mr. Parker interned at the White House in the Office of the Vice President, and for Congressman Jim McGovern.
Mr. Parker received a B.A. in Government and Economics from Colby College, and a Master in Public Policy degree from Harvard Kennedy School.
