Prior to joining Beacon Global Strategies, Ms. Swyden worked in the Policy Planning Unit at the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) in Brussels, Belgium. At NATO, she assisted with revising the 2022 Strategic Concept and supported the development of long-term policy priorities in several areas including energy security, Arctic geopolitics, and Alliance force posture. Ms. Swyden also interned with the Atlantic Council’s Foresight, Strategies, and Risks Initiative, and worked in communications for the International Peace Institute.
Ms. Swyden graduated with an M.A. in European Public Policy from the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies, where she focused on European Union security and defense, laws, institutions, regulatory policy, and enlargement. Previously, Ms. Swyden also obtained an M.A. in International Affairs and Global Security from the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies in Geneva, Switzerland. She graduated from Smith College in 2019 with a B.A. in Government.
