Prior to joining Beacon Global Strategies, Jonathan served as an Assistant Director in the Forward Defense program at the Atlantic Council’s Scowcroft Center for Strategy and Security. In this role, he supported and helped lead major initiatives related to strategic forces including the Hypersonic Capabilities Task Force, working with industry partners and senior government experts to develop actionable recommendations to accelerate and prioritize the development of U.S. hypersonic capabilities. Before the Atlantic Council, Jonathan gained experience interning around Washington, DC, including at the House of Representatives, Monument Advocacy, the Ronald Reagan Institute, and Civilian Research and Development Foundation (CRDF) Global.
Jonathan is a graduate of George Washington University’s Elliott School of International Affairs, where he earned a M.A in Security Studies with a focus in U.S. National Security, and Tulane University, where he earned his B.A. in International Relations and Middle East Studies. His Master’s thesis focused on the defense relationship between the United States, Gulf countries, and China, proposing how the United States can adjust its policy to ensure its role as the region’s security guarantor in this era of strategic competition. Jonathan and his group worked with the State Department’s Bureau of Political-Military Affairs as a client.
