Beacon Global Strategies (BGS) today announced that Gabriella Carney has joined the firm as an Associate Vice President, where she will support BGS’s expanding export controls offering and broader national security and advisory work as part of its Indo-Pacific Practice.

Gabriella brings over a decade of experience from the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS), where she served as a Senior Policy Advisor and played a leading role in the development and implementation of U.S. export control policy, including controls related to semiconductors and artificial intelligence.

Throughout her eleven-year tenure at BIS, Gabriella supported a wide range of export control activities—from advising on law enforcement cases and identifying supply chain vulnerabilities to engaging with international partners on multilateral control regimes. Her experience equips her to advise clients navigating the increasingly complex intersection of national security, emerging technologies, and global compliance.

“We’re thrilled to welcome Gabriella to the BGS team,” said Meghan Harris, Senior Vice President at BGS. “With regulatory activity accelerating around emerging technologies, companies need more than just insight—they need foresight. Gabriella’s experience at the forefront of U.S. export control policy will help our clients anticipate changes and strategically position themselves in a rapidly evolving regulatory environment.”
