Beacon Global Strategies (BGS) today announced that Lindsey W. Ford has joined the firm as a Vice President in its Indo-Pacific Practice. A leading expert on Indo-Pacific security with over two decades of experience across senior government and policy roles, Lindsey brings deep expertise in allied technology and defense cooperation, US-India policy, and Southeast Asian affairs. Lindsey also serves as an adjunct Senior Fellow in the Indo-Pacific Security program at the Center for a New American Security.

Most recently, Lindsey served as Senior Fellow for Security and Defense at ORF America, where her work focused on U.S.-India security relations and Indo-Pacific alliances. Prior to that role, she served as Special Assistant to the President and Senior Director for South Asia at the National Security Council, where she oversaw efforts to expand strategic trade and supply chain cooperation between the United States and India, including new bilateral frameworks on pharmaceuticals and green energy.

Lindsey previously served as Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for South and Southeast Asia, managing bilateral defense relationships with nineteen Indo-Pacific nations. In that role, she worked with the Defense Innovation Unit to launch the Department’s first Indo-Pacific defense innovation initiatives, led negotiations on the first bilateral defense industry framework between the United States and India, and negotiated new U.S. basing rights in the Philippines. She also oversaw maritime policy and capacity-building efforts in the South China Sea and established new unmanned technology initiatives with regional partners. Over the course of her government career, Lindsey advised five Secretaries of Defense and received multiple honors, including the Medals for Outstanding Public Service and Exceptional Public Service.

Earlier in her career, Lindsey held senior research roles at the Brookings Institution and the Asia Society Policy Institute. Her analysis has appeared in leading outlets including The New York Times, Foreign Affairs, The Economist, The Wall Street Journal, CNN, MSNBC, and Bloomberg.

“Lindsey helped design and execute the alliance and defense strategies that have defined American policy in Asia over the past decade—from the Pentagon to the National Security Council,” said Eric Sayers, Managing Director of BGS’ Indo-Pacific Practice. “That track record, combined with her deep relationships across allied capitals, makes her uniquely positioned to help our clients anticipate and navigate what’s coming next in the region.”
