Prior to joining BGS, Louisa was a Public Policy Coordinator at Meta on the Executive Branch Team in their DC office. In this role, she facilitated engagement with the federal government to support initiatives related to key domestic policy issues, including AI adoption and regulation.
During her time living abroad in Germany, Louisa served as a Graduate Associate at the Technical University of Munich Think Tank where she brought together academic, government, and private sector stakeholders to study the social and political implications of emerging technologies. She also interned on the Technology and Global Affairs team at the German Council of Foreign Relations in Berlin, contributing to research and writing on transatlantic approaches to technology governance. Before attending graduate school, Louisa worked in the tech industry – primarily in environmental technology – as a product manager and data analyst.
Louisa holds a M.Sc. in Politics & Technology from the Technical University of Munich, where she wrote her thesis on algorithmic transparency and the EU’s approach to regulating emerging technologies. She also holds a B.A. in Political Economy from the University of California, Berkeley.
