Prior to joining BGS, Mr. Murphy served as a China Analyst in the Indo-Pacific Program at the German Marshall Fund of the United States. There, he supported the expansion of the China Global Podcast and conducted research on political developments relevant to U.S., E.U., and Chinese foreign policies in the Indo-Pacific region. Additionally, Mr. Murphy has extensive experience as a language teacher, instructing students in German, Spanish, French, and English across Germany, China, Mexico, and Belize.
Mr. Murphy holds a B.A. in Chinese Language and Culture from Michigan State University, an LL.M. in China Studies from the Yenching Academy of Peking University, and recently graduated from Georgetown University’s Walsh School of Foreign Service with an M.A. in Asian Studies.
