Ian Byrne Joined Beacon Global Strategies in May 2020
Prior to joining BGS full-time, Mr. Byrne worked as an Analyst for the Scowcroft Group, and also as an Analyst for BGS in 2019. From 2015-2018, he also led media efforts at the Washington Institute for Near East Policy, a Washington think tank focused on the Middle East. In 2012, Mr. Byrne served as a policy research intern with the National Security Network.
Mr. Byrne graduated from the University of Minnesota with a B.A. in English and minor in Political Science. While an undergraduate, he spent one year in Malaysia, where he studied at Universiti Sains Malaysia in Penang and worked for a public relations firm in Kuala Lumpur. Mr. Byrne graduated from the Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS), where he was a Dulaney & Wendy Glen Fellow, with an M.A. in International Economics and Strategic Studies, and a minor in International Political Economy.
