Patrick Michaels joined Beacon Global Strategies in August 2023 as an Associate. Prior to joining BGS, Mr. Michaels served as Legislative Aide to US Senator John Cornyn, where he helped manage a policy portfolio covering telecommunications, semiconductors, space, labor, education, and healthcare policy. Mr. Michaels was part of the legislative team that passed the CHIPS for America Act in the 2021 NDAA and secured funding for the CHIPS Program in the CHIPS and Science Act. He also worked on the Secure 5G and Beyond Act, USA Telecommunications Act, and other telecommunications policies. Prior to joining Senator Cornyn’s office, Mr. Michaels served as a Public Policy Fellow for US Senator Johnny Isakson, where he assisted a team focused on foreign aid and international economic development policy.
Mr. Michaels holds both a B.A. in Political Science and a B.A. in International Affairs from the University of Georgia (UGA). He also holds an M.A. in Modern History from King’s College London where he was co-enrolled in the War Studies department and focused on the history of technology and the history of war. Mr. Michaels volunteers for the UGA Mentor Program and UGA Washington Semester Program where he helps current UGA students prepare for life outside of university.
