Beacon Global Strategies (BGS) today announced that Natalia Cote-Muñoz has joined the firm as an Associate Vice President in its Global Technology Practice. Natalia brings a background in AI governance, geopolitical risk, and technology policy, built across government service, entrepreneurship, and public commentary on how emerging technology is reshaping the policy landscape.
Prior to joining BGS, Natalia co-founded and led Vantage Point Strategies, a geopolitical risk and AI advisory firm, and writes Artificial Inquiry, a newsletter on AI governance. She served at the U.S. Department of State in the Secretary’s Office of Policy Planning, covering China, alliance revitalization, and grand strategy, and as Senior Policy Advisor and Acting Deputy Special Representative for City and State Diplomacy in the Subnational Diplomacy Unit.
Earlier in her career, Natalia researched supply chains and trade at the Council on Foreign Relations and taught at China Foreign Affairs University in Beijing as a Princeton in Asia fellow. Her work has appeared in Foreign Affairs, Foreign Policy, Americas Quarterly, The Diplomat, and more.
“As AI governance becomes one of the defining policy challenges of this decade, clients need advisors who understand both the technology and the geopolitics driving it,” said Klon Kitchen, Managing Director at Beacon Global Strategies. “Natalia gives our clients exactly that.”
Natalia holds a Master in Public Policy from the Harvard Kennedy School and a B.A. from Swarthmore College. She speaks Spanish, French, and Mandarin.
