Cameron is a seasoned growth strategy advisor with more than a decade of experience advising government contractors, commercial companies, and private equity firms on organic and inorganic growth strategies in the U.S. federal market. He specializes in M&A advisory services for strategic buyers and private equity firms in highly regulated markets, and translating market and competitive intelligence into actionable growth strategies that help government contractors anticipate and capitalize on emerging opportunities.
Prior to joining Beacon, Cameron served as Senior Director for Federal Strategy at The Chertoff Group, where he advised private equity investors on buy-side due diligence and post-close value creation strategies for transactions in national security markets. He also advised government contractors and new federal market entrants by generating visibility into ground-truth customer requirements, leading market analyses and competitive intelligence activities, developing organic growth strategies and customer engagement tactics, and leading capture support, red-team advisory services, and mission-resonant technical solutioning advisory services for his client’s most significant contract pursuits.
Previously, Cameron worked in Booz Allen Hamilton’s Growth Office, supporting executive leadership teams across the firm’s Navy and Marine Corps, Joint Combatant Command, and National Security accounts with strategic planning for emerging technology markets. He also played a key role in shaping priority corporate and account-level contract pursuits, translating open-source market and competitor intelligence into tactical recommendations on strategic teaming, customer engagement, proposal shaping, and competitor positioning. His flagship projects included developing the Global Defense Sector’s counter-UAS growth strategy, supporting the creation of the firm’s Navy and Marine Corps’ AI and autonomy go-to-market strategy, and leading competitive intelligence for a $1 billion corporate priority contract that was ultimately awarded.
From 2016 to 2021, Cameron held management roles as a Senior Manager in The Beacon Group’s Aerospace, Defense & Government Practice (acquired by Accenture), and as an Engagement Manager at Avascent, now part of Oliver Wyman. In these positions, he led client engagements, managed project teams, and developed tailored strategies and tactics to help Fortune 500 defense and government services contractors grow and win business.
Cameron is certified as a Competitive Intelligence Professional by the Academy of Competitive Intelligence. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Columbia University.
